Marc Archer has 18 years experience in the sports business industry and currently is the Head of Sponsorship & Commercial for the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi). In this role he manages the strategy and P&L for the portfolio of world-class events owned, managed and sponsored by TCA Abu Dhabi including Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing (team entered in Volvo Ocean Race) and Volvo Ocean Race Stopover, Abu Dhabi Triathlon and strategic stakeholder input for the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, Red Bull Air Race, 2014 IPL matches in Abu Dhabi and ISAF Sailing World Championships. Sponsorship properties include Manchester City FC and FIFA U17 World Cup. His previous Middle East work experience also includes senior positions at Falcon & Associates, International Cricket Council and Dubai Sports City. International roles have included stints working with sports technology in the NFL and as a sports agent representing leading international athletes in the UK. He has worked with many leading global brands in maximizing their partnership investments in the sports industry including HSBC, Etihad, IWC, Huawei, Motorola, Mercedes-Benz, Rolex, Nike, Visa, Oakley, Emirates, Ford, and Vodafone. In his limited spare time he co-hosts the weekly sports radio show “Sports Tonight” and “The Grill” on Dubai Eye 103.8 and has lectured in various MBA courses internationally on subjects pertaining to sports & entertainment marketing, sponsorship, sports law, sports tourism, and hosting mega events.
